Ostrich tuning The name "Ostrich" comes from one of Lou Reed's songs, titled "The Ostrich." It's a type of trivial or a repetitive tuning where all the strings are tuned to the same note.

Paul Gilbert. Paul Gilbert used EEe tuning (each an octave apart) on the songs "Three E's for Edward", "Get Out of My Yard" and (if I'm not mistaken, and possibly in a different key) "Let the Computer Decide". During the Mr. Big reunion tour there is a duet with Paul Gilbert and bassist Billy Sheehan (using the drummer and singer as human capos, a gimmick also used in the GOOMY intro.

Paul Gilbert playing in half-ostrich tuning. 3 strings, instead of 6, all tuned to E. Really useful for the arpeggios he usually skips strings for. but I know some of the guitars on the Crosby Stills Nash albums were in EEEEBE tuning, so there might be some overlap there. level 1 [deleted].

The ostrich guitar or ostrich tuning is a type of trivial tuning. It assigns one note to all strings, e.g. E-E-e-e-e'-e' or D-D-D-D-d'-d'. The term "ostrich guitar" was coined by Lou Reed in after the song "The Ostrich" by Lou Reed and the Primitives, on which he first used this tuning.

Dec 04,  · If you have a 1g and you ever plan on tuning different platforms the ostrich is a really great way to go. I have tuned my eagle, a nissan, and 3 different dodges with it. When I am done I read the binary off the ostrich and burn a chip. A chip burner is ~$ Most everything that has a 28 pin eprom can be tuned with the ostrich.
