"Back Door Man" was recorded as a single and was collected on Howlin' Wolf, Rocking Chair Album (), and others. The Doors' recording features a thumping rhythmic approach. They vary the chords in a bar blues arrangement, which serves as a great tension-and-release pattern. Vocalist Jim Morrison seethes and croons over the swinging band.

The Back Door Man is a great story that captures a great everyman hero that has been beaten down in life and is set up to take the ultimate fall by The Man and evil cohorts. Taken advantage of, passed over for promotions, James is all of us working for the system, never seeming to get ahead no matter how many hours we work/5.

Some of the best tracks here are "Two Timin Woman", "Hear Me Sing Like Elmore James", the title track "Back Door Man", which is one of my favorite Willie Dixon tunes. Willie's got to be lookin' down smiling at this one it's soooo good. He does a tribute to his mentor with "Yank Told Me", and a nice one from Little Walter, "Hate To See You Go"/5(10).

noun the man who a cheating spouse sees on the side. The man enters and exits through the back door, so that no one will see him. I think my wife has a back door man.

A back door man is apparently antonymous to a " downtrodden laborer." Some people feel that being a back door man will help you sneak into concerts. I however, after quite a bit of research, believe that "back door man" is simply a blues term to describe an unknown lover that leaves out the back door before a woman's "front door" man gets home.

A "back door man" is a guy who has relations with a woman while her husband has been out slaving away to provide for her. The guilty perpetrator if a wife was caught cheating was typically a tradesman caller like the ice man, or an insurance salesman. He would run out the back door to avoid detection when the husband entered through the front.

The Back Door Man is a good story--fascinating plot, both relatable and bigger-than-life characters, strong detail, surprising action and a satisfying end. Three stars are the results, in my opinion, of verbose text--simply too many words repeatedly saying the same thing in too many places/5().
